Good morning!
What is the health condition of my heart? Where is it at? Do I really believe?
In Bible Study Fellowship a few years ago, a couple of weeks had been on Isaiah. Such a rich book – beyond the dire warnings for Judah found in the book, there are so many frequent references and prophecies that point to the hope and coming of Jesus Christ.
This has resonated for me causing me to think about light, the Light of Christ. Seeing His light and trusting His light.
It has got me thinking about my heart and my belief in Him. What parts of God’s Word speak to me and help me know His truth? What speaks to you from His Word?
For me, this may be the most powerful part of scripture – I find it awe inspiring – how John 1 and Genesis one come together – underlining the fact that Jesus Christ is NOT new on the scene in the New Testament making His first appearance. God, the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, exist before creation, before time and space.
Together, the Triune God, our God, creates all things. What beauty there is to realize that from the beginning, God’s plan was in place for His Son to come to our rescue. God’s Word shows this truth. And I believe. My heart is filled with this truth for living my life.
There are a lot of references in scripture about our salvation, but this one in Romans 10, helps me answer the question about the health of my heart and answer the question of do I really believe…
It is with our hearts that we believe – with our mouths that we declare…the our Savior’s Lordship, that Jesus Christ rules us. When I read Romans 10:9-11, I know in my heart I believe.
Lord Jesus, my prayer for each of us as we enter this weekend is that we can see the truth in God’s Word as it relates to our belief and salvation and that we embrace that love that God has shown us by believing in our hearts and by declaring You, Jesus as Lord. Amen!
Have a weekend filled with the Peace that comes from knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

- Genesis 1:26-27 ‘Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”’

- Romans 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
