African Children Today (ACT), Rakai Area Orphan Development Initiative (RODI), a few friends and family, and Kathy (my wife) and I, have started an effort called the Rakai Area Cycle Empowerment (RACE) initiative.

The first 20 bicycles through the RACE Initiative have arrived in Rakai, Uganda (See photos). We are excited to be starting fundraising soon for another 180 bicycles - more to come on this.

The RACE initiative is a one-time initiative designed to accomplish two distinct yet related goals. The first, and arguably the most important goal, is to introduce the Rakai Orphans Development Initiative (RODI) through African Children Today (ACT). The second goal is to provide practical help to the children of RODI through donating bicycles to make it easier to accomplish everyday efforts such as getting water and going to school.

We do this in response to Christ's call to us to serve our brothers and sisters in love and community around the world, sharing what we have with them.

Keep your eyes open for more on this.
